When I started the warm-up, I had some doubts about my ability to complete the program for the first time since starting insanity. It’s a good thing my plan was to learn the workout, and not kill myself doing it. Since I was already tired from the fit test, I decided not to push myself too hard, just focus on learning the moves and the workout. The stretches seemed shorter, the circuits are longer, and there 3 circuits instead of 2 after the warm-up. Unlike the previous month’s 40 min workouts, max interval circuit is an hour. Speaking of month 2, after an exhausting fit test, I was supposed to do Max Interval Circuit for the first time! I felt light headed and mixed my recovery smoothie to sip throughout the workout, which helped me keep up. I noticed this throughout the fit test - I would start off strong, on target to meet awesome results - and then lose steam by the end. I think part of the issue here is that I started to get a case of the lazies, and had trouble doing moves for more than 30 seconds. Not doing the move correctly explains the first dip, but the second dip can’t be explained away so easily.
The unfortunate trend is in power jumps, where I’ve been steadily declining. These are definitely two areas I’ve been focusing on. It looks like I’m steadily improving in terms of my leg and arm strength, as can be seen in my improvements in suicide kicks and low plank obliques. The Fit Test is getting better, although after the recovery week and two days off it was a struggle! Here are my results:
However, I’ll still do the other workouts in order. Although I might just rearrange when the recovery and off days are, since I really liked that in month 1. I looked at the schedule, and I can still fit in all the workouts before 11/14 (my personal target goal). I should begin by saying that I ended up starting month 2 a day late because of my tough work week, and I really wanted to start this right.
